Kansas City : pt. 3

So, I stayed with my friend Scott (and family) up on 17th and Summit, with a little guest room over the bakery next to the Bluebird Bistro. It used to be the Bluebird Cafe and was KC's first vegetarian restaurant. Now it's organic, sustainable and lococarian in approach. I had lunch with Mike Sinclair, a great (not an overstatement!) architectural photographer, who like Scott is being shown at The Dolphin Gallery. I would have linked to him, but drat, his site seems down! Here's his blog. My host, Scott has a great office space, built in the proverbial Chinese laundery. Scott tells me he's always finding photographers doing hotsy totsy model shoots against the metal wall.

The rest of his neighborhood is too cool by half. I live in Stillwater, or 'doily town' as I say. And I live in an 1881 house, and IT"S GETTING ON MY NERVES ! ! Especially when I looked at the new and rehabbed abodes in his neighbor hood. oh BAAWWWW, it's not fair!

The last house here was just featured in Dwell! Oh, why am I not surprised. . .
